Leaflet Marketing and Sales Assistant

£19,316 - £21,102 per annum (pro rata)

14 hours per week

Permanent contract

Location: London

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is the leading medical authority on mental health in the United Kingdom and is the professional and educational organisation for doctors specialising in psychiatry. The College plays a central role in establishing and promoting the highest standards of psychiatric care and training in the United Kingdom.

An exciting role has now become available to help the college market its mental health information for the public. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and energetic person to work with our digital team, to drive up sales of our information leaflets.

We have developed a marketing plan for leaflet sales. This role involves the post holder spending two days a week implementing the plan; using email, phone and social media to promote the leaflets, to take orders, to manage payment, and to dispatch orders.

The role also involves maintaining our database of contacts in good working order, liaising with the Public Engagement Manager who is responsible for leaflet production, and with the printers.

To be eligible, you should have good communication skills – both written and oral – and have an excellent phone manner. You’ll need excellent organisational skills, the ability to organise your own workload and act on your own initiative, good keyboard skills, and experience of data entry and report writing. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. A marketing background is not essential but you must be interested in the challenge we face, which is to work with the digital team to drive up awareness and ultimately sales of our leaflets, among a range of types of organisation.

We only recruit the best and in return for your commitment the College offers an attractive salary and benefits.
