The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

Mental health information for employers

We’ve produced a special pack of mental health information for employers and employees to mark World Mental Health Day 2017 (10 October).

Our information explains how to recognise a possible mental health problem, and how best to support those living with mental ill health.

It has been written collaboratively by psychiatrists and patients, has won awards for its clarity and helpfulness, and includes

  • the most common range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and sleeping problems

  • conditions which affect employers and employees such as seasonal affective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-natal depression

  • more serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and personality disorders.
