The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

South West Division

About the South West Division

In the north of the region, the Division covers the counties of Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset, and Bath and North East Somerset.  In the south of the area, the Division covers Devon and Cornwall and part of Dorset. The Executive Committee meets five times a year, usually in March, June, September and December and for a Strategy Day during the summer. The Executive Committee is very active and feels that it is important to keep members in touch with the Division and the role it takes in representing them. An Annual General Meeting is held in the spring to coincide with the Spring Biannual Meeting.

High quality scientific conferences are held in the spring and autumn with the spring meeting being held in Tiverton and the autumn meeting held in Bristol.

The Division, through the South West Training Division (SWDT), provides high quality postgraduate education for the personal development and continuing professional development of psychiatrists in the region.
