Central Policy Committee (CPC)
The Policy
Committee meets four times a year to discuss current policy issues
and approve College documentation. The Committee members include
representation from all Divisions, Faculties and Special Interest
Groups within the College, as well as service users and carers and
members of the Policy and Communications Department.
CPC has
representation from faculties, divisions, jurisdictions and
sections. The Committee receives detailed feedback from the Policy
Unit, feedback from the Westminster Parliamentary Liaison Committee
(WPLC) and discusses any policy issues which are relevant to the
wider Committee. The Committee has the function of approving
College documentation for publication.
The Policy Unit is
responsible for the coordination of these committees. If you would

The Committee meets
four times a year to discuss guidance on psychiatric professional
practice, including issues of policy into practice,
confidentiality, probity and conflicts of interest. Members of the
Committee are those who have expertise and interest in ethics,
confidentiality, quality standards and the relationship between
policy and practice.
The Committee
allocates time to discuss separately issues involving
confidentiality and ethics, as well as issues surrounding
professional practice. The Committee also has the additional
function of overseeing the accreditation decisions made by the
College Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI).
The Policy Unit is
responsible for the coordination of these Committees. If you would
