The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

RCPsych in Scotland

It’s been a busy start to 2017. January saw the launch of our MCN (Managed Clinical Network) and in February we held our Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Roundtable event which included over 60 attendees from a mix of Scottish Government, third sector and clinical backgrounds.

We also held our Academic Winter Meeting at the end of January which was a huge success, the theme being ‘Fear and the Psyche’.

The Scottish Government Mental Health Strategy 2017 - 2027 was published on 30 March 2017 and the RCPsychiS issued the following statement on Mental Health Strategy the same day. In addition, the Executive Chair and Vice President, Dr Alastair Cook, was interviewed by BBC Scotland and appeared on BBC Scotland Evening News.

We are also looking forward to the International Congress coming to Edinburgh this year.
