Asking about autism
The college’s new
autism champion, Dr Ian Davidson, is asking Members to help the
college understand the strengths and weaknesses of current
arrangements relating to autism.
He has published a survey which asks you to critically identify
what works and what doesn’t work for you as a psychiatrist, and for
the individuals and families you support.
Dr Davidson said: “The more Members who complete the survey, the
better. We’d love to hear from you, whatever stage of career you’re
at. It will take about 15-20 minutes to complete but the feedback
will be so useful for the work we’re doing.”
The results will the college’s Autism strategy, and help us to
develop education and training resources.
In July this year, Council reviewed the progress with the
Championing Autism programme and agreed it should continue for
another three years, expanding the remit across all divisions as
well as faculties and special interest groups.
Dr Davidson was appointed as College Autism Champion and it was
agreed that the Campaign would be hosted within the newly
established Neurodevelopmental Special Interest Group chaired by
