The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

RCPsych awards evening

RCPsych Awards ceremony 2017

The winners of this year’s Royal College of Psychiatrists Awards collected their prizes at a glittering ceremony this month.

The RCPsych hosted the ceremony - now in its ninth year - at our offices in Prescot Street in the shadow of the Tower of London.

Some 300 guests working in psychiatry and mental health attended and warmly applauded the winners.

Professor Wendy Burn, President of the College, congratulated the shortlisted individuals and teams before the proceedings began, and said how impressed judges were by the quality of entries received for each category.

Musician, journalist columnist, presenter and Church of England priest The Reverend Richard Coles, hosted the awards.

Alastair Campbell, a writer and strategist who is a prominent ambassador for Mental Health Campaigns, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Professor Rob Poole.
