London Division Fellowship Nomination

Fellowship of the College is awarded as a mark of distinction and recognition of contributions to psychiatry. Because it is a College award, candidates and citators are asked to demonstrate and evidence significant contributions to the core purposes of the Royal College of Psychiatrists:

Setting standards and promoting excellence in mental health care

Leading, representing and supporting psychiatrists

Working with service users, carers and their organisations

Candidates are invited also to document their contributions to the College's stated aim of patient centred practice through: Professionalism, innovation and research, lifelong learning, fairness and inclusion, ethical practice and multi-disciplinary working.

If successful, Fellows are entitled to use the designation ‘FRCPsych’ once they have paid the prescribed registration fee.

Nominees for the Fellowship must be subscribing Members of the College at the time when nominations are submitted. Sponsors will be notified if this is not the case.

Nominations are considered annually by the Fellowship Sub-Committee, a sub-committee of the Education, Training & Standards Committee.

RCPsych Research Fellow in Sustainability 2013-15

Innovative two-year Fellowship in sustainability of mental health services, funded by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.  The post is offered to specialist trainees in psychiatry as an 'out of programme experience'.  The successful candidate will work with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and the College to take a lead role in this exciting new dimension of quality improvement, developing skills in clinical leadership, management and research.  During the post, it is expected that the Fellow will persue an MD at the University of Warwick, and will continue one clinical session per week.

Closing Date: 15 February 2013

Interviews: 22 February 2013 to be held at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, 17 Belgrave Square, SW1X 8PG

Please note that candidates shortlisted for interview will be asked to make a 10 minute pre4sentation (no more than 5 slides) on the following topic:

'Identify an opportunity for reducing waste while improving care, based on your own observations of mental health service provision.  How would you facilitate its adoption locally and nationally.'
