External Adviser Training

The College’s Quality Assurance Committee is seeking enthusiastic consultants to join a pool of College accredited psychiatry external advisors (EAs). There will be a half day training session on Wednesday 18 November.

Appointment of a Simulation Training Adviser

The College is seeking to appoint a consultant psychiatrist who has expertise in postgraduate education & training to take an active role and provide high-level input to the College's work in developing the use of simulation training for psychiatry. This will involve representing the College at relevant meetings including the College Curriculum Committee and Education and Training Committee.

Liaison Credential-Pilot Sites

The Royal College of Psychiatrists in partnership with HEE is looking for interested consultants to be part of a liaison psychiatry credential pilot. Candidates will need to be post CCT, working in an old age or adult liaison consultant post (0.5FTE or more) but without an endorsement in liaison psychiatry. They will also have to demonstrate support from their Trust.

Trainee attachment to the RCPsych Policy Unit in London

The Policy Unit coordinates, develops, and advises on issues affecting mental health and psychiatric policy and practice. The Unit would like to appoint a Trainee Psychiatrist ST4-ST6 on a voluntary basis, ideally for a 12-month period, to be involved with and support the policy development work of the College.

Trainee attachment to the RCPsych in Scotland

The RCPsych in Scotland would like to offer a placement to a Trainee Psychiatrist (ST4-ST6) as a special interest session, ideally for a 12 month period, to be involved with and support the policy and public affairs agenda of the College in Scotland.

Paper A Panel Chair

A vacancy has arisen for a new Chair of the MRCPsych Paper A Panel to take up office in 2016.  Please note that the successful applicant will initially be appointed as a Deputy Chair in order to have a 6 month handover period with the current Chair.

Westminster Parliamentary Liaison Committee Chair

The Westminster Parliamentary Liaison Committee is responsible for providing support for the College’s public affairs engagement with politicians. The Chair will work closely with the College’s Public Affairs Manager to help promote the College’s priorities to Ministers and Parliamentarians.
