What is the Psychiatric Liaison
Accreditation Network?
- The Psychiatric Liaison Accreditation
Network (PLAN) works with services to assure and improve the
quality of psychiatric liaison in hospital settings.
- PLAN
engages staff and service users in a comprehensive process of
review, through which good practice and high quality care are
recognised and services are supported to identify and address areas
for improvement.
-
Accreditation assures staff, service users and carers,
commissioners and regulators of the quality of the service being
provided.
- PLAN
includes core areas common for all teams such as assessment and
care planning, but also recognises that some areas may be outside a
team’s remit. This means that a small but well functioning team can
still be accredited, or even accredited with excellence, in the
domains that it is measured against.
PLAN provides year round support to
help accreditation members maximise opportunities for learning and
development.
This support includes the option of
taking part in email discussion groups, learning events and annual
conferences, as well as quality improvement advice targeted at
individual services.
PLAN is an initiative of the College
Centre for Quality Improvement.
